1. During the consultation phone call we will explore payment options and specific insurance plan.
2. Since we provide specialty psychological care and upon request the Practice can provide an invoice you can submit directly to your insurer for reimbursement.
3. You may contact your insurance company directly to inquire about your specific benefits. You may ask the customer service representative, “Does my plan include mental health care? What is the process for accessing out-of-network benefits to receive outpatient mental health care?”.
4. Since every plan is unique, Inquire if you have a deductible to meet before coverage is approved. You can ask the customer service employee, “Do I have a deductible to meet to receive out-of-network mental health services and if I do, what is the remaining amount I need to pay before this health plan will reimburse me for anything I have paid out of pocket to receive care?”.
5. Ask, “How much will my plan reimburse for mental health care code 90837 with a licensed psychologist? If this information is not provided you can inquire, “What is the maximum permitted amount of visits for mental health code 90837 with a licensed psychologist and what percentage of the maximum allowed amount that my plan will pay?”.
6. As a private pay practice that respects your privacy, it is important for the client to coordinate care when you authorize third party involvement in your treatment.
